Bacon vs. "Canadian" Bacon.
Peameal Bacon is a significant Detroit export to Ontario. It's been made there well over 100 years.
One of my Grandfathers grew up in Ohio. So he always preferred thicker cuts of bacon with "the rind" i.e. pork skin along one edge. I was always creeped out by the bristly hairs.
I'm pretty sure the UK and Ireland have their own, possibly several, variations on "bacon" as well.
