Elaborate please.
A cron job updates the promotion. It’s done by the server. It's located in the admin panel(cron entries). You can disable ones that you don't want to run.

Here's an explanation of a cron job:

A cron job is a scheduled task in Unix-like operating systems, used to automate repetitive commands or scripts. It is managed by a tool called cron, a daemon that runs in the background and executes jobs at specified times.

A cron job is already setup if you’re using Xenforo.

It’s located in your admin panel under “tools”, in the cron entries section.

You can deactivate certain ones that you don’t want to run.

Thank you for explaining. :)

Promotions are governed by a routine cron task, which runs every hour.

Smithy, have you tried to post this site on forums like Facebook to attract new members? Or will FG even allow this kind of 'advertising'? I thought of seeing if our friends and family would be interested although I haven't ask yet.

Maybe I could invite some of my grandkids which are closer to your age, to the forum, or my kids which are in the early to late 50s, then you already have enough seniors, huh? Grin.

Anyone is welcome any age, any gender. :)
