@Old Dummy Which Forum are you most active in? We have a mash-up of members at present, so we are all "sorting" things out. Don't be a stranger.....give us a hint or two. It's good that you found us.I recognize some names on this site, but none of you on this thread.![]()
Most of the people here would know you as Bruce Andrews, and the people who know you as Old Dummy are people from Senior Forums. So, if you had registered with your SOC name, everyone would have known who you were and said hello. John Brunner had to tell me who you were on SOC, because you were using your name from a different forum . The people here who are on SF are the only ones who know you with the name you are using here.I recognize some names on this site, but none of you on this thread.![]()

"Who's on first.....?@Joe Riley
I was "Old Dummy" on SOC (I think). I tried to sign on there the other day (for the first time in probably 3 years) and it was dead and remained that way. Okay, so I'll try to find some other forum for old people. So I did a search, checked a few, and then opened one with the exact same scheme as SOC, but it is "SeniorForums.com". My profile from SOC was there and SOME of my old PMs, but not all of them. So I posted there a few times and got ahold of John Brunner and he told me about this site.
I remember using "Bruce Andrew" somewhere, was that on SOC?I showed up as "Old Dummy" when I went to "SF.com."
I have absolutely no idea what's going on or where I am, thus my OP in this thread. John did explain it but I'm still not getting it, and I don't think I have dementia yet (or very much anyway)
FWIW: I do remember you, Yvonne (from somewhere).![]()
There are the two distinct forums, Senior Forums (where you registered as Old Dummy) and Seniors Only Club /SOC (where you registered as Bruce Andrews). SOC only used names that sounded like a real person, and we never had anyone with just a username like Old Dummy. You had to use a first/last name for the registration to even go through on SOC.
You apparently joined senior forums as Old Dummy, and then didn’t post there for a long time. Then you joined SOC as Bruce Andrews and posted there for a while and then stopped posting there, too.
You have a similar profile for both forums, and the reason you could not find all your old posts was because it was on the two different forums. I am Happyflowerlady on SF, and Yvonne Smith on SOC, and I am the one that told you who John Brunner was on SF, so that you could private message him from there.
